River City Wrestling #106
Winnipeg Convention Cente, Winnipeg, MB

We are welcomed by the hosts Ron Strong & Mike Stone.

Tonight’s main event will see The Destroyer once again putting his title on the line against Chris Lyon. However, tonight’s match will be a lumberjack match, as requested by Destroyer, to keep out the England sisters and Bobby Duncum.

Last week Bobby Duncum made his first appearance in RCW joining Chris Lyon, and the two of them cost the tag champs Roughnecks a non-title loss against Rob Flett and Neil Sutherland. Tonight the tag champs want revenge but with Chris Lyon set to take on the Destroyer, it has to come in the form of a singles match.

Opening Bout:

Stan Rodgers (277 lbs., Austin, Tx)

V

Bobby Duncum (270 lbs., West Texas, USA)

Duncum goes right to work with an armbreaker, some hair pulls to maintain advantage and then a body scissors to try and wear down his fellow Texan. Lariats, a lowblow, and a flying bulldog nailed by Duncum but Rodgers manages to remain alive. Rodgers fights back with forearms and suplexes before the action spills outside. Referee George Gadasky comes out to break up the brawl only to get knocked down by an errant elbow. Duncum seizes the opportunity to grab a steel chair and ~waffle~ Rodgers. He rolls the tag champ back into the ring for what will likely be an easy pin. But before Duncum can re-enter the ring, Russel Riggs the other tag team champ, appears at ringside, grabs the discarded chair and nails Duncum across the back, falling him like a big tree. However, Gadasky saw this chair swing and called for the bell.

Bobby Duncum defeated Stan Rodgers by disqualification due to outside interference in 0:09:06.

Post-Match Interview: The tag team champs are livid. They want Duncum back in the ring, and if it takes putting up the titles then they will do so. They tell Duncum to get himself a partner and next week they will get it on.

Sports Night Promo: USFL Semi-Final action this weekend. Philadelphia Stars v Chicago Blitz in one match-up, and Michigan Panthers take on the Oakland Invaders in the other. The championship game will be played on July 17th in Denver's Mile High Stadium.

While over in the NFL, 4 members of the Dallas Cowboys Harvey Martin, Tony Dorsett, Ron Springs, and Larry Bethea have been involved in discussions with federal authorities after their names surfaced in a cocaine investigation.

Dynamite Kid says he is coming to Wrestling Summit and will take on no one else but Keith Hart.

Bout #3:

Women’s Action:

Tawney England (Winnipeg, Manitoba)

v

Tanya Tataryn (Winnipeg, Manitoba)

Tawney has not lost her vicious streak since her and sister Corrie became valets for Chris Lyon. She used a hairplane spin to set up a kneedrop from the top rope right on the stomach to finish off Tataryn.

Tawney England defeated Tanya Tataryn by pinfall after a top rope kneedrop at 3:45

Main Event:

RCW Heavyweight Championship Match

Lumberjack Match

The Destroyer (champion), 252 pounds, parts unknown

V

Chris Lyon, 235 pounds, Winnipeg, Manitoba

First couple minutes saw both men wrestling carefully, and countering many of each other’s moves. The champ takes over and is all over Lyon with a swinging neckbreaker and a Samoan drop but can’t put Lyon away. Lyon takes advantage of the situation and muscles Destroyer out of the ring on the rulebreaker side. Pat Patterson, Bounty Hunter, Nacho Berrera, Cuban Assassin, and Tom Stone take liberties with Destroyer until Bonecrusher, J.D. Miller, Keith Hart, Ray Stevens, and Jake Milliman come over and resuce him. Back inside Lyon controls the action. Unable to put the champ away he tries to throw Destroyer back to the rulebreakers, but its reversed and Destroyer sends Lyon out instead to the fan favorites. Inexplicably Lyon decides to try and take everyone on and is punching and kicking for all he’s worth to not have to re-enter the ring. Finally the rulebreakers also joined the fray and we had an 11 man brawl, which obviously acted as a distraction to the ref. Then Big Bad Bobby Duncum came out and things started to look bleaker then ever as Duncum started to pound away at the fan favorites. While this was going on suddenly a new man entered the ring from out of the crowd. The fans went nuts, booing and jeering the very recognizable Angelo Mosca. Mosca attaced Destroyer from behind, giving him a powerbomb. Lyon got back into the ring while Mosca faded away. Lyon locks on the Boston crab but somehow Destroyer managed to survive over a minute in the hold before reaching the ropes. Lyon though wasn’t done and nailed the champ with two successive slingshot suplexes, and the fans were rioting in the aisles as the referee Wyatt Hall laid down the 1, 2, 3, NEW CHAMP!

Chris Lyon pinned The Destroyer after a slingshot suplex in 0:17:48.

[Chris Lyon won the RCW Heavyweight Championship]

Post-Match:

Chris Lyon, Bobby Duncum, Tawney & Corrie England celebrate their big victory in the ring taunting the crowd.
