River City Wrestling #269
Edmonton, Alberta

Opening Bout:
Rick Renslow & Dave Wagner defeated Justin McKay & Jeff Gillies by pinfall when Renslow pinned Gillies after a stuffed piledriver at 5:31
-maybe a necessary match to keep Renslow & Wagner a viable tag team, but a very boring 5 minutes.

Promo;
Vendetta, the Haitian voodoo man, returns next week, and promises there will be a pound of flesh extracted from Manny Silva for revenge.

Bout #2
Dave Petro defeated Manny Silva by reverse decision at 3:33
-Silva won the match easily in a squash beating Petro with the wheelbarrow suplex. But Silva has all the compassion of a Judas Priest song, as he just kept pounding on Petro and ignoring the referee's directions. Then Silva wrapped the top and second ropes around Petro's neck to choke him. This was all the ref and called for the bell a second time. Finally enough RCW officials came out to stop Silva and the ref reversed his decision awarding the match to Petro. This was of little consolation to Petro who was being attended to by medical staff.

Interview:
Ben Bassarab, Kid Gallahad, and J.J. Funk come out to the ring to try and sort out their own issues and their mutual dislike for Les Quebecois. Bassarab says he doesn't trust Gallahad, and the Kid replies that with the edge being displayed lately by Bassarab it was maybe he that couldn't be trusted. Funk in the meantime warned both men they couldn't trust him, because he was a Funk, and would beat up people anytime he wanted, sometimes at random and for no good reason what so ever. Seemingly at an impasse, stare down, they were suddenly swarmed by Les Quebecois, Neil Guay, Armand Rougeau, and Richard Charland. Les Quebecois got the drop on them and got their licks in early, but when the tables began to be turned they hightailed it out of there, leaving their motely crew of enemies to fume and lick their wounds.

Bout #3
"Scout's Honor Match"
Boyscout Richard Ryan defeated Shawn Cummings by pinfall after hitting him with brass knuckles at 7:41
-Scouts honor match rules were introduced by Ryan before the match and accepted by Cummings. Basically no illegal moves were allowed, instead of being a 5 count it would result in an automatic disqualification loss, for not breaking clean, for a closed fist punch, choke, anything. Of course Ryan applied several cheating moves whenever the situation enabled itself, it was the only way he could compete with the superior athletic ability of Cummings. In the end when even that wasn't enough he resorted to going to his shorts and using brass knux to pick up another tainted win.

Interview:
Ron Strong tried to interview Boyscout Richard Ryan but he was quickly chased away by Shawn Cummings.
After a commercial break the interview resumed, but this time with Shawn Cummings who said that Ryan was going to get his next week, because his powerful tag partner Mighty Moe Malone was returning from injury and wants some revenge on Ryan.

Bout #4
Non-title Match
The Longriders defeated Nacho Berrera & Chris Pepper by pinfall when Wild Bill pinned Pepper after a superplex at 5:23
-squash match

Interview:
The tag team champion Longriders are interviewed. They are furious with the Russians Boris Zhukov and Chris Markoff for hitting them with the Russian flag last week. The pain they say was very temporary, but the stench of that Commie flag on their skin will not go away until the Russians are sent packing back for Siberia. With that in mind the tag champs offer to put up their belts against the Russians next week, in a Flag match.

[end of first hour]

"Over the Top" with Sylvestor Stallone and Terry Funk opens in theatres across the nation Feb 13th.

Pre-Match:
Yuri Gradienko is in the ring with Orca. Ron Strong asks him if he is there to act as an interpreter for Orca, and who her partner will be to take on the England Sisters. He tells Strong he is "wrong information. I da proud Soviet brother, of sister Commrade Orca..veill be her partner tonight". Strong says that is not the way things are done and sanctioned in RCW, but in broken English Gradienko reminds Strong of the England Sisters challenge for Orca to "find a partner". They did not specify gender..besides he quips...me no different, no vorse, den East German gurl swimmer.
Strong is adamant this match will not happen but the England Sisters come out, put on a brave face and accept the challenge.

Bout #5
Tag Team Match
Orca & Yuri Gradienko defeated Tawney & Corrie England by disqualfication for outside interference at 8:02
-Orca started the match and went right to work on Tawney. But the England sisters used some double teams, and a sympathetic referee Vic Gate who turned his back on these tactics to steer Gradienko out of the ring, and give him a lecture as well. The England sisters controlled Orca using fast tags for the first 3 minutes of the match, until Orca just turned the tables with a simple clothesline. She worked over Tawny for a few seconds before making the tag out to Yuri. The man menaced her, letting her crawl for a tag but then pulling her back to the middle of the ring by her feet. He laid in a couple elbows to her spine, then locked on a camel clutch while taunting Corrie. The other England sister though was quick as she entered the ring and clotheslined Yuri off her sister. This started a 4 person brawl that Orca and Yuri easily won. Corrie found herself on the arena floor, and Tawney was alone in the ring. Once again they took turns punishing Tawney. Both England sisters were hurt. Referee Gate warned the Russians to either try for a pin or he would throw the match out!! But the Longriders didn't want to wait that long, still pissed off at Zhukov/Markoff, they saw red and hit the ring. Gate called for the bell.

Post-Match:
The tag team champs went to work on Yuri, and then threw Orca out of the ring. Wild Bill took Yuri down with a superplex and then handed him off to his brother Scott. However, Markoff and Zhukov hit the ring and nailed the Longriders from behind. The tag team champs though would not be denied and soon ejected Zhukov and Markoff from the ring as well.

Bout #6
Six-Man Tag Match
Neil Guay, Armand Rougeau, & Richard Charland defeated Ben Bassarab, Kid Gallahad, & J.J. Funk by pinfall when Rougeau pinned Funk after a top-rope dropkick at 9:45
-the fan favorites actually controlled most of the match, except when Les Quebecois would cheat to gain an advantage. The Alberta crowd was very hot for this match, and really seemed to hate the Quebec team. Several times objects hit the ring and had to be kicked away by referee Jurgen Hermann, not a usual occurence in RCW venues. The end though came when there was some miscommunication between Bassarab and Gallahad, that spilled into a pushing match outside the ring. Left to the wolves it only took seconds for the pack to bring down the straggler, with Rougeau using Kid Gallahad's finisher to end the night for J.J. Funk on a bad note.

Main Event
RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Steve Disalvo (/w Lisa Caress) (champion)  v  Phillip Navarre

After a bit of a feeling out process Navarre started to show his slightly superior wrestling skills over Disalvo, taking control with armbars and leglocks. But he made the mistake of not grounding Disalvo and the champion roared back with some powermoves. With Navarre hurt he hit a running powerslam, followed by a running clothesline for a 2 count. He tried for a DDT from the second rope but Navarre countered by throwing Disalvo to the mat. After catching his wind Navarre whipped the champ to the ropes and nailed him with a spinebuster for a 2 count. He tried for the coup de grace but Disalvo pushed him off and then caught him with a shoulderblock.
Then unexpectantly Manny Silva hit the ring taking out Navarre from behind with a clothesline, and then straddled him and laid in some haymakers. But Disalvo's smirk left his face when the mad man went after the champion with a kick to the groin, a wild uppercut, and then a clothesline knocking him out of the ring. Silva's attention returned to Navarre who he hit with the wheelbarrow suplex. He then wrapped the top and middle ropes around the Frenchman's neck and tried to strangle him until help arrived on the scene to aid Buddy Lane in resucing Navarre.

No Contest at 7:38
[Steve Disalvo retains the RCW Heavyweight Title]

River City Wrestling #270
Billings, Montana

Opening Bout:
Shawn Cummings defeated Chris Pepper by pinfall after a flying dropkick at 5:58
-squash match, a bit long, but still a squash

Interview:
Shawn Cummings is joined in the ring by the returning Moe Malone. They promise bad things will happen to Boyscout Richard Ryan tonight.

Promo:
More of an interview with Sylvestor Stallone and Terry Funk about fun on the set of "Over The Top" featuring Stallone as a man battling for the love of his son and an armwrestling championship, which opened in theatres yesterday.

Bout #2
Richard Charland defeated J.J. Funk by pinfall after a piledriver at 7:14
-Charland controlled most of this match thanks to some early cheating. He used his low-tech, but high energy offense until J.J. finally made a spirited comeback. With some running clotheslines, bodyslams, and elbowdrops he had Charland in trouble. Hangman Neil Guay came down to ringside causing a distraction as Jurgen Hermann left the ring to send Guay to the back. Funk made the mistake of allowing it to distract him too long, and Charland nailed him from behind. A couple suplexes and a piledriver later and the leader of Les Quebecois had his victory.

Interview:
Les Quebecois (Richard Charland, Armand Rougeau, & Neil Guay) refuse to speak any English in this interview, infuriating the fans by talking only en francais. Rougeau has a title match later tonight against Ben Bassarab, but the only thing we can discern from his rant is that "idiot" sounds very similar in French as it does in English.

Bout #3
Moe Malone defeated Boyscout Richard Ryan by disqualification at 8:22
-Malone back from injury showed off his power during the match. Ryan attacked often but couldn't seem to do enough damage to Malone to keep him down for long. Resorting to cheating Ryan got caught using the ropes for leverage on a pin attempt, slipping the forearm into a choke on a sleeperhold, and using the ropes for leverage on an atomic drop. Referee Vic Gate was extremely frustrated by the tactics of Ryan. Ryan reversed a whip to the buckle, sent Malone there instead, then came off the ropes and gave him a bulldog. The Boyscout pinned got 1, 2, 3, but wait..right after counting the 3 Gate noticed that Ryan had a handfull of tights. He reversed his decision disqualifying Ryan for his tactics.

Post-Match:
Boyscout went ballistic and backed Gate into a corner. The ref pushed Ryan away, right into the arms of Moe Malone who gave him a crunching belly-to-belly suplex. Ryan laid there not moving.

Interview:
Vendetta & Phillip Navarre have a tag match tonight against the unlikely duo of Steve Disalvo & Manny Silva. Navarre refers to them as the psychopaths. Vendetta says they would like much more to be going after the title but first they have to teach Silva a lesson.

Bout #4
North American Women's Title Match
Orca defeated Corrie England by pinfall after a splash at 10:09
[Orca retains the North American Women's Title]
-Orca went to work the first minute with big chopping blows. But England came right back and got Orca off her feet. She then worked armbars, a crossface, and a front facelock. Corrie's sister Tawney spent the match at the announce table as a guest color commentator. Orca made a comeback but it didn't last long until Corrie was again able to chop her down. Corrie changed tactics and went after the legs, working them over with elbow and knee drops, pounding her kneecaps off the mat, and smashing them off the ring apron. This time when Orca made her comeback she was unable to stand. Corrie then grabbed the advantage back and applied a standing surfboard while Orca was on her knees. The champ though refused to submit and was finally able to knock Corrie off balance. Corrie came off the far ropes, but Orca was able to get to her feet and collided with Corrie. Both women went down, and Orca was the first to get back up. Corrie looked knocked out. Tawney left the announce table to check on her sister but was sent back to the table by ref Buddy Lane. Orca nailed Corrie with a splash on her back, turned her over, and nailed a splash on her front to get the win.

Post-Match:
Tawney rolled into the ring to check on her sister who was not moving. Orca looked like she was going to leave the ring, so Tawney made the mistake of turning her back. Suddenly Orca grabbed Tawney's head in both her hands and dragged her up. She forced Tawney to her knees and then drover her knee into Tawney's back. She then dropped an elbow on the back of her neck, before coming off the ropes with a devastating splash. Neither England sister was moving as the Russian champ left the ring to a chorus of boos.

[end of first hour]

Interview:
Steve Disalvo tries to have a prematch meeting with his partner Manny Silva, but the Hawaiian makes it clear that he is being forced into this tag match and will just as likely take out Disalvo as he will his opponents. Disalvo instructs his valet Lisa Caress not to stay at ringside for this match, as its too dangerous.

Bout #5
Vendetta & Phillip Navarre and Steve Disalvo & Manny Silva was declared a no-contest at 0:00
-yeah, this match never got started. Manny Silva attacked Vendetta before the bell, and the 4 men spilled outside the ring. Disalvo and Silva had the advantage thanks to the sneak attack and they pummeled their opponents outside the ring, ignoring Vic Gate's instructions. With Vendetta laid out, and Navarre being double teamed, suddenly Silva attacked his own partner Disalvo from behind. He drove Disalvo head first into the barricade, then grabbed a chair and nailed Navarre, and then Disalvo. The match was thrown out and Silva left the area the last man standing.

Bout #6
RCW TV Title Match
Armand Rougeau defeated Ben Bassarab by disqualification for outside interference at 13:23
[Ben Bassarab retained the RCW TV Title]
-fast paced start with both men getting in high octane moves, and matching each other move for move. Armand hit dropkicks, a German suplex, snap suplex, spinning toe hold, flying elbowsmash, and a sleeperhold. For his part Bassarab hit dropkicks, snap suplexes, baseball slide, but got pushed off when he went for a superplex. Rougeau followed that up with an elbowdrop from the top, and got 1, 2 Kickout!! Rougeau now held the advantage for several minutes, trying to finish off the champ first with a series of full-nelsons, and then the sleeperhold. Bassarab managed to get a breather when he was knocked out of the ring. Back inside he went toe to toe with the challenger and then nailed a snap suplex for a 1 count. He tried for a Boston crab but was pushed off. The champ though came off the ropes with a running kneesmash nearly decapitating Rougeau, and got a 2 count. Bassarab saw the end coming and nailed a pair of German suplexes. However before he could get any further Neil Guay came out and distracted the ref while Richard Charland entered the ring and clotheslined Bassarab from behind. Kid Gallahad came running from the back and went after Charland. Of course by then Guay walked away and when Jurgen Hermann turned around Charland was gone and Gallahad was standing inside the ring. Rougeau was still down so Hermann put 1 and 1 together and got 3, and called for the DQ.

Interview:
Ben Bassarab was furious with Kid Gallahad for getting him disqualified, with Les Quebecois for their tactics, and with Hermann for his incompetency. Bassarab says he has a call in back to Alberta for some back-up in this war.
This brings out Kid Gallahad and J.J. Funk. Gallahad tries to apologize but Bassarab won't listen, telling the two of them they aren't needed in this war. They try and tell Bassarab that its their war too but he won't hear it. Bassarab walks away, and Gallahad tries to pull him back. JJ then pulls Gallahad away as it looks like he and Bassarab may get into it. This infuriates Gallahad who pushes JJ, who pushes back. Then the two start throwing punches as Bassarab grabs his belt and leaves.

Pre-Match:
"No One Like You" by the Scorpions plays as the foxy looking England Sisters escort the tag team champion Longriders down to ringside for their match. Even though they are Canadian the sisters are decked out in star spangled biker jeans and leather for the occassion.

RCW Tag Team Title Match
Flag Match
The Longriders defeated Chris Markoff & Boris Zhukov by capturing the Russian flag from a pole at 8:27
[The Longriders retained the RCW Tag Team Titles]
-nothing special in this tag match, just a lot of brawling, and Scott Hogg Irwin started to bleed in the 2nd minute of the match and by the end was a horrible mess. Wild Bill carried most of the action as his brother looked wobbly, but Scott came in at the end to help Bill take out the Russians and capture the flag.

Post-Match:
The brothers then tossed the flag out of the ring, grabbed down the American flag, and received a standing ovation as the bloodied but not beaten Scott Hogg waived the flag in victory.
The fans continued to cheer as the England Sisters came back out to celebrate with the biker tag team.

Opening Bout:
Phillip Navarre defeated Rick Renslow by pinfall after the coup de grace at 5:28
-squash match

Interview:
RCW Champion Steve Disalvo along with his valet Lisa Caress are interviewed. Disalvo is furious at Manny Silva for attacking him last week, throwing him into the guardrail. He wants a piece of Silva tonight.
This brings out Marty Goldstein followed shortly after by Phillip Navarre. Goldstein says that Navarre is the #1 contender and has not yet got his fair shot, and there is no way that Silva is getting that shot just because of his underhanded methods.
Disalvo says fine, but reminds Goldstein that the reason Navarre can't seem to get a fair title shot is because of Silva's interference. Disalvo says to let him teach Silva a lesson tonight, and then Navarre can have his title shot on another day. Goldstein considers it before relenting. However, he says the match tonight between Disalvo and Silva will be a non-title match. And just to make sure that things get settled, he's making it a street fight! Disalvo and the fans love the sound of that. Navarre isn't happy about the situation but seems somewhat mollified by the knowledge that the next title shot will be his.

After extolling their virtues for a minute they assure the girls that one of them will soon beat Orca for the Women's title. It appears that Tawney and Wild Bill might now be a couple?

Bout #3
Boyscout Richard Ryan defeated Hawaiian Punch by pinfall after a schoolboy at 3:37
-squash match, and the first time Ryan didn't have to cheat to win

Interview:
Boyscout Richard Ryan insists that depsite the neanderthal treatment he received at the hands of Malone & Cummings last week that he still has the upper hand against the duo in the win category. He says though that he is done wrestling those preliminary losers and is ready for some better action in RCW.

Bout #4
North American Women's Title Match
Orca defeated Tawney England by pinfall after a splash at 6:51
[Orca retained the North American Women's Title]
-Tawney gave it all she had, matching Orca brawling move for brawling move, including a nice kick to the gut followed by a DDT for a near fall. She also took the match outside on several occassions and dished out the punishment driving Orca hard into the announce table and the ring apron. However, unable to get the victory, and unable to use her hairplane spin as Orca was too heavy, she made a fatal mistake in going to the top rope. England came off for a cross body block, but Orca was able to maintain her footing and then powerslam England to the mat. One splash, followed by a second, and it was an easy 3 count for the win.

Post-Match:
Boris Zhukov and Chris Markoff hit the ring. Markoff held Tawney's arms behind her back while Orca kicked and punched her unmolested.
Zhukov stood guard but couldn't stop them when the Longriders hit the ring to make the save, driving the Russians out of the ring.

[end of first hour]

Bout #5
Kid Gallahad and J.J. Funk battled to a no-contest at 4:47
-tempers flared up last week with these two ending in a punch-up, and this match was the follow-up of that incident. They got it out of their system as best they could in a total brawl that spent as much time out of the ring as inside. However, the match wasn't thrown out because of their conduct, but rather because both of them were jumped by Les Quebecois, Richard Charland, Neil Guay, and Armand Rougeau. Funk and Gallahad were left laying.

Interview:
Manny Silva rants about his match tonight against Disalvo being a non-title match. But he says that dead men can't hold titles and after tonight that freak Disalvo will be a dead man.

Bout #6
RCW TV Title Match
Everyone banned from ringside
Ben Bassarab defeated Armand Rougeau by pinfall after a flying crossbody block at 9:53
[Ben Bassarab retains the RCW TV Title]
-another excellent match between these two with all other performers banned from ringside, a stipulation which was actually respected throughout the match.
Bassarab controlled early, then Rougeau controlled later. Nice mix of high flying moves with scientific. Rougeau poured on the offense but when he went for a top rope dropkick, Bassarab was able to dive out of the way. He tossed Rougeau into the corner, nailed a backbody drop. Followed up with a dropkick, then a snap suplex, then came off the ropes with his finisher to end the match.

Post-Match:
As Bassarab celebrated, Kid Gallahad came out from the back and confronted him. He asked Bassarab why he wasn't there to help him and Funk out earlier. Bassarab tells Gallahad he was getting ready for his own match, and besided he says he is not Gallahad or Funk's friend, or partner. In fact, he says he has a call in back to Alberta for a real friend of his to come out and help watch his back against Les Quebecois. Gallahad just shakes his head.

Main Event
Streetfight
Non-Title Match

Steve Disalvo  v  Manny Silva

For this streetfight a victory can come by pinfall or submission, and all holds are legal.

Silva attacked Disalvo at the opening bell with a kick to the groin and then a blatant choke. Since all such moves are legal in a streetfight there wasn't anything Buddy Lane could do but watch and get ready to count the pinfalls. Silva used the tag rope to choke Disalvo then stood on the bottom rope to further choke Disalvo. He slowed things down with a double nervehold from behind, before delivering some karate chops to the side of the neck, then a neck vise. The big champion was solidly the fan favorite in this match, fought through the pain and got to his feet, only to have Silva bring him back down with a low blow. Silva worked a front chancery which he kept putting into a choke. Lane tried to get him to stop but Silva argued that the hold was legal in this match.
Finally Disalvo started a comeback with a well timed punch to the throat. Silva came at him and received another punch. Slowly the champ turned things around and then really punished Silva with a powerslam. The Hawaiian rolled out of the ring to try and buy some time. But the champ from Boston rolled out after him and slammed him into the guardrail, before slamming the guardrail back onto Silva. Grabbing a steel chair from the crowd he smashed Silva on the head.
Silva was busted wide open.
Buddy Lane tried to get them to return to the ring but of course they didn't have to listen. Disalvo went under the ring and grabbed a wooden chair. He smashed the wooden chair over Silva's head sending wood everywhere. Silva even had a splinter coming out of his bloodied forehead. Disalvo went to work on Silva with a piece of broken wood trying to carve his initials into his forehead.
Finally the big man dragged the Hawaiian back into the ring, nailed two running clotheslines, pinned, and got 1, 2, Kickout! Powerlsam followed by a DDT got another 2 count. When Disalvo went for a piledriver his bloodied opponent was swinging his fists wildly and caught referee Buddy Lane right in the crotch, sending him down. Disalvo hit the piledriver and would have got the 3 count but there was no ref to count.
Disavlo tried to revive Lane but then got ambushed from behind by Silva. Silva rammed the champ's head into the ring post, then left the ring and smashed Disalvo's shoulder off the post two times. Back inside Silva went to work, using his leg muscles to choke Disalvo. Lane tried to make him break which made Silva go nuts. Lane got into it with Silva before the Hawaiian snapped. Silva punched Lane in the side of the head, and then wrapped his neck between the 2nd and top ropes and choked him.
He left Lane tied up and went to work on Disalvo with a powerslam showing his own great strength followed by a wheelbarrow suplex. He seemed pleased to see Marty Goldstein come down to the ring and ordered the commissioner to make the count. But Goldstein refused and called for the bell and for some help to aid Lane who he had just got untangled from the ropes and now lay unconscious.

Steve Disalvo defeated Manny Silva in a streetfight by disqualfication for abuse of official at 9:59

Post-Match:
Silva grabbed Goldstein from behind with a look of menace, but before he could do anything Vendetta hit the ring and took Silva out with a football style tackle. The two traded punches but it was the well rested Vendetta who got the better of it. Steve Disalvo now recovered though and took out Vendetta from behind. He bodyslammed the Haitiaan into the buckles, hanging him up in the tree of whoa. He then went back to work on Silva with punches and then a DDT from the second rope.
Phillip Navarre hit the ring and traded punches with Disalvo, knocking him back to the ropes. The champ had enough for one night and ducked out of the ring.

The England Sisters defeated Ultra-Vixen & Shelly Salter by pinfall when Corrie England pinned Salter after flying headscissors at 5:28
-not much competition here for the England Sisters

Interview:
The interview begins with Ron Strong and the England Sisters, but then the Longriders come out to join them. They are raging mad again against the Russians for the way they treated Tawney and Corrie last week. The tag champions say they want revenge.
Surprisingly Chris Markoff, Boris Zhukov, Yuri Gordienko and Orca come out to answer the challenge. Markoff says they will take on the capitalist pigs in 2 weeks, at the St. Patrick's Day Bash, in a big 8-man tag match. Wild Bill says it ain't fair as they have two women, and the Russians only have one..well sort of. Markoff says that is the only way they will compete. After consulting with his three partners Wild Bill agrees to the match, under one stipulation. If they beat the Russians then the girls get a 2-on-1 handicap match against Orca with the Women's title on the line. Markoff agrees but says that if the Russians win then he and Zhukov get another shot at the tag titles, but this time it will be fair and square as the match will take place in Mother Russia with a good commrade referee. Hesitantly the Longriders agree to the terms.
This brings out Marty Goldstein. While he thanks all involved for doing his job for him and making matches, he agrees to sanction the match. Also tonight, he tells each team to choose a participant for a warm-up match.

Promo:

Bout #2
Boyscout Richard Ryan defeated Dave Petro by pinfall after a schoolboy at 3:30
-squash match

Interview:
Richard Ryan is quite proud of himself and his two week winning streak, and his spirits refuse to be subdued even when Ron Strong points out his opponents' own lack of wins.

Promo:
"Drain the Life" by the Toastmen is used as a backdrop for the promo for tonight's WWF show at the Winnipeg Arena featuring Hulk Hogan defending his WWF World Title against Jake Roberts.

Bout #3
Armand Rougeau defeated Kid Gallahad by pinfall with his feet on the ropes at 7:09
-good match with Gallahad playing the injured underdog through most of it. Rougeau though made a mistake of going for his top-rope dropkick too soon and Gallahad moved out of the way. A minute later though Gallahad repeated the mistake, and this time when Rougeau went for a quick pin he put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage for a tainted win.

Post-Match:
J.J. Funk hits the ring and complains to referee Buddy Lane, telling him what just transpired. Lane listened and seemed to apologzie but was helpless as he hadn't seen it. Armand Rougeau had left quickly when JJ hit the ring. Now Gallahad and JJ were left in the ring facing each other. After their dust-ups of the past couple weeks we might have expected fists, but instead we got the two men burying the hatchet with a handshake.

Interview:
J.J. Funk and Kid Gallahad say they don't know what Ben Bassarab's problem is, or what or who this help is coming from back home in Alberta, bu tif he doesn't want their help then fine, he won't get it. But the two of them are not done with Les Quebecois either, and they warn Bassarab not to get in their way.

Bout #4
Orca defeated Wild Bill Irwin by disqualification for outside interference at 2:14
-After the Longriders had already selected their team member, the audience was shocked when the Russians sent down Orca. But it proved a devious move as Wild Bill refused to strike Orca, although he did try and get her in some basic moves like a headlock, and a sleeperhold. In the end though his limits made him an easy target and Orca was starting to take it to him when the England Sisters hit the ring and attacked Orca from behind.

Post-Match:
The inevitable 8 person brawl broke out between the Russians and the Longriders/England Sisters. The Russians got the better of it thanks to their overall team's physical advantage.

[end of first hour]

Bout #5
Shawn Cummings & Moe Malone defeated Yuri Gordienko & Ivan Gorky by pinfall when Malone pinned Gorky after a belly-to-belly suplex at 5:49
-Gordienko was already banged up from the brawl just a few minutes prio rto this match, and Gorky is a preliminary wrestler, so Cummings and Malone controlled the vast majority of this match.

Pre-Match:
After Les Quebecois Richard Charland & Neil Guay are already in the ring, Ben Bassarab comes out and announces his mystery partner is none other then Owen Hart of the famous Hart family (including former RCW tag champs Bret & Keith). Owen says the Frenchies are going to get it Alberta style, just like a bull ride; hard, fast, bumpy, and you'll end up on your back and scrambling from the arena for your life.

Bout #6
Ben Bassarab and Owen Hart defeated Richard Charland & Neil Guay by pinfall when Hart pinned Charland after an enzuigiri at 10:54
-this match went back and forth, with both teams having short advantages and all 4 guys holding their own. Guay tried to use a couple submission moves like the Hangman and a full-nelson, while his partner preferred moves of blunt force like running kneesmashes, and backbreakers. Bassarab and Hart kept fighting from behind and were not afraid to match their bigger opponents punch for punch. In the end Charland got a tag from Guay who had been working on Hart for a minute or so, and after a couple attempts to finish off Hart he tried for a whip to the ropes. Owen though reversed it, but Charland reversed that, but then showed his cards ducking his head for a backbody drop. Owen came with a boot up intending to rearrange Charland's nose, only to have the veteran catch the youngsters foot. But Hart had one more trick up his sleeve nailing Charland with an enzuigiri. The pinfall was so quick and unexpected that Guay reacted slolwy, and did not break up the pin in time.

Post-Match:
Les Quebecois are quickly joined by their third member Armand Rougeau in a 3-on2 beatdown. Kid Gallahad and J.J. Funk came down to ringside but then seemed to think better of it and just stood and watched until security arrived to end the beat down.

Pre-Match:
In order to ensure that Phillip Navarre finally gets a fair shot at Disalvo's title, Goldstein calls Manny Silva and Vendetta down to the ring. He tells Silva that due to his actions last week, as he had already been notified last night, he is suspended without pay for this week and next. However, since it is obvious he was going to be here one way or another to disrupt this title shot, he has decided to let Silva come. However, at that point he orders several police constables to connect Manny Silva to Vendetta by handcuffs. They do so under a lot of duress from Silva.

Main Event
RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Phillip Navarre defeated Steve Disalvo by disqualification for outside interference at 7:05
[Steve Disalvo retained the RCW Heavyweight Title]
-Wow, it looked like we might have a new champion tonight. After Disalvo controlled the opening couple of minutes, Navarre really poured on the offense. He had Disalvo rocking on the ropes, literally and figuratively. Then all of a sudden mayhen broke out as Silva attacked Vendetta getting the jump on him and wrapping the handcuff chair around Vendetta's neck from behind. This was enough to distract referee Buddy Lane for a few seconds, time in which Lisa Caress entered the ring with a steel chair and nailed Navarre in the back. However, Lane saw the whole thing and called for the bell.

Post-Match:
The brawls continued unabated as Vendetta battled for his life against Manny Silva, while Disalvo keep up the beating of Navarre who began to show some signs of life again.

That's it for another edition of River City Wrestling.
