Opening Bout:

Ladies Action:
Cherry Forever v Valkrye (/w Anton Rojack)

Squash match. The muscular Valkrye has no problem overpowering Cherry. She uses a sitdown powerbomb for the win. After the match while she was getting her hand raised Rojack entered the ring and lustfully ran his hands up and down Cherry’s thigh. This ended though when he saw Valkrye begin to turn around.

Valkrye defeated Cherry Forever by pinfall after a sitdown powerbomb at 2:19

Video;
“Nobody Told Me” by John Lennon accompanies video footage of the domination shown by The Triumvirate over the past couple of months.

Bout #2:

Brad Rheinghans v Dynamite Kid

Kid controlled the early minutes of this match and looked like it was turning into a route. However, Rheinghans was able to mount a spirited comeback and score what has to be viewed as a major upset.

Brad Rheinghans defeated Dynamite Kid by pinfall after the Olympic Suplex at 7:42

Post-Match: As Rheinghans was getting his hand raised he was attacked from behind by Dynamite Kid. He just laid in a few boots and punches but it was enough to get his message across to Rheinghans that this issue was not settled.

In-ring Interview:
Time for the Triumvirate (Chris Lyon, Bobby Duncum, Angelo Mosca, with Tawney and Corrie England) to crow for a bit. They come to the ring with their various awards from last week’s presentations. Lyon said he has single handedly put aside the challenges of both Mike Valiant and Superstar Billy Graham at the 4th Anniversary show. Mosca & Duncum also brag about beating Rheinghans and Brunzell. To top things off Chris Lyon says that he is the only logical choice to be named as the first inductee to the RCW Hall of Fame.
All this posturing brings Mike Valiant down to the ring. He is using a set of crutches and his knee is heavily bandaged after the beating it received at the 4th Anniversary.
He tells Lyon that he is nothing but a cheap shot artist, and that if he hadn’t attacked him before the match and injured his knee that he would not be holding the RCW gold tonight. Lyon just laughs at Valiant and says something to the effect of “should have, never did, never was”. Valiant loses his cool and challenges Lyon to a rematch next week. The champ just laughs at him saying he doesn’t deserve it. He had his shot and failed. Angelo Mosca though pulls Lyon in for a brief consultation, that puts a bigger smile on the face of the champ. Lyon says that if Valiant wants another title shot he has to earn it, by beating King Kong Angelo Mosca, tonight!!
The Triumvirate all look down at Valiant at ringside and laugh at him, mocking his crutches. Lyon reiterates that if Valiant can beat Mosca tonight he will get his rematch. Valiant looks over his knee, seems to ponder it for a bit while the fans scream encouragement. Finally he accepts the challenge, then proceeds to toss away his crutches and walk normally down the aisle to the backstage area. The Triumvirate are in shock, and argue amongst themselves for a few seconds before the segment ends.

Bout #3
Winner to get TV Title Shot Next Week vs Destroyer

Vic Gate v Bounty Hunter
BH is the previous champ having lost to Destroyer at the 4th Anniversary show, while Gate is Destroyer’s protégé. Gate shows some excellent wrestling repertoire but does not have enough impact to put away the 275 lb Texan. Bounty Hunter makes a short comeback which sets up his finisher.

Bounty Hunter defeats Vic Gate by pinfall after the Lariat at 8:35

Main Event

Mike Valiant v Angelo Mosca (/w Corrie England)

Back and forth match, neither man having a definitive advantage. Mosca is a powerhouse but has little scientific ability or flow. The crowd voices its disapproval at the pace and action of the match. The end comes via a ref bump which allows Corrie to pass Mosca a chair. He swings but Valiant ducks, slugs Mosca in the gut, tries to grab the chair, but is low blowed from behind by England. Mosca ~waffles~ Valiant in the head with the chair busting him wide open. The ref makes a well timed recovery to make the pin. The fans boo both the outcome and the match.

Angelo Mosca defeated Mike Valiant by pinfall following a chair shot at 6:28

Mosca is joined by Heavyweight champion Chris Lyon who gives him a handshake after they roll Valiant out of the ring.

Announcers Ron Strong & Mike Stone welcome us to another edition of River City Wrestling.

Opening Bout:

Squash Match.

Jim Brunzell defeated Chris Pepper by pinfall after a flying dropkick at 3:29.

Bout #2:

Tex Cobb v Bad News Allen

No more wrestler versus boxer stuff, this is now a straight up wrestling contest. Allen takes advantage of the chance for revenge. Cobb is a good fighter, but Allen is able to control him, and then ground and pound him. Decent showing by Cobb but he has some way to go yet as a pro wrestler.

Bad News Allen defeated Tex Cobb by pinfall after an enzuigiri at 8:05

Promo;
The head of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, Matt Brock comes to the ring with an envelope. The six man selection committee has come up with the 3 leading contenders for the initial inductee spot into the River City Wrestling Hall of Fame. The names are in alphabetical order. They are;
• The Destroyer
• Marty Goldstein
• Chris Lyon

As could be predicted the only one that drew a good deal of applause was the people’s choice, the Destroyer. Brock says the committee will meet once more to go over the candidates and put it to a final vote. The winner will be announced on the February 18th edition of RCW, with a special edition of RCW held on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th which will include an induction ceremony for the winner.

Bout #3:

Phil Lafleur & Ben Bassarab v Kendo Nagasaki & Butch Reed ( /w Mr. Ho)

Bad guys control early, youngsters take over later. Nagasaki makes a mistake and blows his mist into the face of Butch Reed. Bassarab nails Nagasaki with a German release suplex, and when Nagasaki gets up he is finished off by a LaFleur superkick.
Mr. Ho manages to soothe ruffled feathers after the match between his two men.

Lafleur & Bassarab defeated Nagasaki & Reed by pinfall when Lafleur pinned Nagasaki after a superkick at 10:48

Main Event
RCW Television Title Match
The Destroyer (champion) v Bounty Hunter

Every time they would hook up or exchange moves the Destroyer would come out with the advantage. So naturally the Bounty Hunter turned it into a brawl, and took it to the floor. Finally Destroyer made a comeback outside the ring, not with fists, but with a forearm, Irish whip to the ring apron, clothesline, and then rolled him back inside. Destroyer came off the top rope with a flying cross body but could not get the fall. BH nailed Destroyer with a punch, and then gouged the eyes. He tried to end the match in a hurry with his Lariat finisher but Destroyer countered with a crucifix into a roll and kept the title.

Destroyer defeated Bounty Hunter by pinfall with the crucifix at 9:45
[The Destroyer retains the RCW Television Title]

That’s it for another edition of River City Wrestling.

See ya next week.
