River City Wrestling #38
Chalmers Community Club, Winnipeg, Manitoba
Last warm-up show before RCW hits the big time with a show at the Winnipeg Arena on September 26th.
Opening Bout:
Kenny Ho defeated Chrisscat by submission with the stomach claw at 9:31
Special Challenge Match: (Lady v Midget)
Jeannie Rahib & Billy the Kid battled to a double countout at 6:45
**Billy the Kid came out prior to the match and challenged the "unofficial" RCW Women's champion to a match as there
doesn't seem to be any worthy women, it was up to him, a man, to put her in her place. Rahib accepted the challenge but was
only on-site to sign autographs tonight and didn't have her wrestling gear on. She had to fight wearing an extremely tight
pair of designer jeans. Not much of a match, mostly a hair pulling, slap filled fight that spilled out of the ring.
Premiere Appearance:
Bonecrusher defeated Russel Riggs by submission to the bearhug at 3:55.
**Newcomer Bonecrusher is a short (5'7) muscular, and thick man (240 lbs.) and apparently has an incredible squueze as
he quickly submitted the former RCW tag team champion. After the match Stan Rodgers looked to take a run at Bonecrusher but
decided that discretion was the better part of valor.
Special Match:
Clarke "Stampede" Roenick defeated Stan Rodgers by countout at 7:02
**Roenick controlled most of this match and finally Rodgers just let himself get counted out.
RCW Tag Team Title Match
Royal Kiwis (Kelly Hobin & Keith McIvor) (champions)
v
Les Voyageurs (Jacques LaToque & Luc Lagimodiere)
Les Voyageurs defeated the Kiwis by disqualificiation at 14:40.
**This was a pretty even match, but finally it looked like the Kiwis had control and were ready to finish it off.
Lagimodiere made sure he "accidently" bumped into the ref which allowed LaToque to retrieve a chair and nail Hobin. When
he tried to do the same to McIvor the Kiwi wrestled the chair away and then waffled both Voyageurs. Of course the ref awoke
to see McIvor standing with the chair and called for the DQ.
[Royal Kiwis retain the RCW Tag Team Titles]
MAIN EVENT
Handi-Cap Match
The Destroyer v Mike Valiant & Chris Lyon
Destroyer started strong and dominated first Valiant and then Lyon. However the villians soon took over with the inevitable
cheating and doubleteaming. This brought Clarke Roenick down to the ring to try and stand in the corner of
the Destroyer. The ref though wouldn't allow it and argued with Roenick before banishing him to the back. In the meantime
this allowed Valiant and Lyon free reign and they punished the Destroyer with double team moves. The Destroyer kicked out
of several pin attempts and seemed to be gathering momentum as the villians grew frustrated. Roenick returned to ringside,
this time hiding from the ref by crouching alongside the ring apron. When the time was right he interfered - but instead of
helping the Destroyer he used his arms to hold down the Destroyer's legs on a pin attempt, and allowed Lyon and Valiant to
pick up the win.
[Chris Lyon & Mike Valiant defeated the Destroyer at 17:47 when Lyon pinned the Destroyer thanks to outside
interference by Clarke Roenick]
After the match Roenick joined Lyon & Valiant in the ring, and the 3 stood together, united, hand shakes all around.
