American Pro Wrestling

September 30, 2006

Pre-Match:
Sean Waltman comes to the ring. He's angry that Vick and Kidman decided to double team him in the battle royale last week. He says he's undeterred however, and that he and Kidman are still going to be the tag champions. He says the next step towards that goal happens now, when he puts Scott Vick in his place.
Billy Kidman comes down to the ring with Vick, but he goes to add his two cents to commentary instead of remaining in Vick's corner.

Bout #1
Sean Waltman  v  Scott Vick

As Vick is climbing into the ring Waltman attacks him with a knee to the ribs. He keeps Vick tangled up in the ropes as long as he can and works over the ribs.
At the announce table Kidman leads on that he likes competition, and its true that he and Vick have failed to win the tag titles.
Waltman works over Vick with strikes, and a flying leg lariat. Vick though ducks away from a spinning heel kick, and then takes Waltman down with a legsweep. Vick works over Waltman using a ground game we don't normally see from him. He nails a reverse flying elbow, but when he goes for a missile dropkick he takes too long and Waltman rolls out of the way.
The miss is not lost on Kidman who comments that sometimes Vick's judgment is clouded by his desire to delve out punishment.
Waltman hits a series of three side Russian legsweeps, follows up with a Bronco Buster. He nails the X-factor and goes for the pin, 1 - 2, Waltman picks his opponent up!
As Waltman points to the annouce table and at Kidman, he drags Vick over closer to the corner. Kidman has taken off his headset and is on his feet, not sure what is happening. Waltman climbs to the top turnbuckle and then comes down with a devastating shooting star splash. That's Kidman's finisher, a fact that is not lost on either the announcers or on Kidman who is not sure what to do.
Waltman gets the easy pin.
[Sean Waltman defeated Scott Vick by pinfall after a shooting star press at 7:14]

Bout #2
MAPW Television Title Match
Yoshihiro Tajiri (champion)  v  Mentallo

Quite a step up for Mentallo, who was granted this shot after such a good showing in last week's battle royale. He can fly and he seemed to have the champ off his feet and off his game in the early going. That lasted until Tajiri could unleash his arsenal of kicks and strikes. Tajiri was just too much for the youngster to handle, nailing a dragon suplex, a brainbuster and finally an Asai moonsault to finish the job.
[Tajiri defeated Mentallo by pinfall after an Asai moonsault at 5:20]
[Tajiri retains the MAPW TV Title]

Interview:

Diamond Dallas Page comes to the ring accompanied by his wife Kimberly. He reminds us that he defeated the MAPW Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar in a non-title match. Tonight he will finish the job in the main event and take the title.

<<< cue "Phenomenal" by LL Cool J >>>
The fans jeer and throw overpriced soft drinks at Adam Riggs as the Irish thug makes his way to the ring. One fan nails him square in the back with the bright blue remains of a slushee. Security is forced to intervene when Riggs goes into the crowd to try and get to the fan.
When he finally makes it into the ring Riggs spits venom at DDP and his wife. He says he beat the hell out of Sam Holiday and that should make him the new #1 contender. When DDP asks why that would make him #1, Riggs answers because he was the commissioner, and when you beat the law, you become the law. He tells DDP that after he takes the title from Lesnar tonight he will make good on the title shot and grant DDP a title shot. Riggs laughs and says he is getting used to beating up on old men. Then Riggs looks at Kimberly and says that when he is done beating up her old man, he will drag her by the hair back to his dressing room. When DDP gets mad at these comments, Riggs says, don't worry I won't touch her, I don't do old ladies, but some of the road agents are old enough that they might get a nostalgic trip out of ******* her.
That's all DDP can handle and he goes right at Riggs. But just as the two lock up and exchange punches they stop when,

<<< cue "The Bagpipes" >>>
The fans go nuts as Rowdy Roppy Piper in a kilt comes down to the ring, wagging his finger at the other two, and climbs into the ring. Grabbing a mic, the Rowdy one tells them they are both mistaken. For 26 years, that's even older then your tattoos DDP, and longer then your Daddy spent in an English prison Riggs, MAPW has been running a September battle royale to determine a new #1 contender. So just when you two are fighting over the answer, I'm changing the question. Which one of you will be the new #1 contender to face me, after I beat the juiced up chipmunk tonight?

DDP turns around to argue with Piper and promptly gets clotheslined by Riggs. Piper and Riggs exchange punches before Piper rakes his eyes and kicks him in the groin.

Sam Holiday comes down to the ring along with a squadron of security guards to break it up.

Holiday says that all of them have legitimate title shots coming to them. And that if they had just been patient and waited their turn he would have made sure they all got them. But since you are all in such a huge hurray to get your shot tonight, you got it. All 3 of you, and the champion will meet in the main event in a 4-corners match with the Heavyweight title on the line. First man to score a pinfall wins the belt.

Bout #3
Petey Williams  v  Billy Kidman

Williams is trying to remain in the title hunt after failing to take Tajiri's title away.
Williams starts strong and appears to be a younger better conditioned version of the aerial style of wrestling Kidman is cut from. Petey also uses his strong ground game to control the match. Billy finally turns things around after about 4 minutes with a cheapshot, some chokeholds, and then both men go tumbling over the top rope to the ground below. Williams sets up for the Canadian Destroyer outside the ring but Kidman blocks it by grabbing onto the guardrail. He drops a knee right across William's throat. He then slides back into the ring to break the count, goes back outside and hotshots Willaims' throat across the top of the guardrail. Referee James Beard comes outside and warns Kidman to take it back inside the ring, which he does. Inside Kidman changes his mind after looking to set up for the shooting star press and goes for the X-factor instead. But he takes way too long to decide and Williams counters with a jawbreaker. He follows up with a dropkick to the jaw of a kneeling Kidman. This is enough to stun him and allow Williams to hit the very sick looking Canadian Destroyer to pick up the win.
[Petey Williams defeated Billy Kidman by pinfall after the Canadian Destroyer at 7:04]

Post-Match:
Brock Lesnar hits the ring with his Heavyweight title around his waist and nails Petey Williams from behind. He then puts him up and delivers the F5 on him. He then looks for Kidman to do the same thing to, but in the meantime Sean Waltman has come down and pulled Kidman out of the ring and is helping him to the back.

Promo;
Brock Lesnar is accompanied by his valet Rena Mero. Lesnar is steamed, and his cheeks are turning red. He lashes out against Holiday's decision to put him in the ring against 3 other men tonight to defend the title. He says that Holiday hates him and just wants him to lose. The champ says he could beat each and every one of those guys, but in this format he runs the risk of DDP or Piper dropping dead of a heartattack and getting pinned while the champ stands helplessly on the ring apron. Lesnar says that he intends on getting into the ring, and not tagging out to anyone. He has won 60-man Iron man matches and is in the best shape of any pro wrestler, so he won't have a problem outlasting 3 old men. He warns Holiday to have an ambulance or two ready though as he's likely to kill some kid's Grandpa tonight.

Bout #4
Christy Hemme  v  Dana Hamm

Women's champion Dawn Marie tried to come down to the ring with Hemme, and April Hunter also tried to stay in the corner of Hamm. However both were sent to the back as they do not have valid managerial licenses.
That was about as much drama as this match held. Hamm delivered a nasty looking straight kick to the chest of Hemme, before smashing the back of her head a few times into the mat. She then turned Hemme over and put her in a camel clutch for a few seconds before Hemme tapped out.
[Dana Hamm defeated Christy Hemme by submission to the camel clutch at 1:05]

Post-Match:
Dawn Marie returned to help Hemme out of the ring. Meanwhile Hunter congratulated Hamm inside the ring and grabbed a mic. Hunter challenged Dawn Marie to put up her title against her next week. DM was so mad that she just nodded acceptance before helping Hemme to the back.

Bout #5
Abe Brewer defeated Javier Reyes by pinfall after a brainbuster at 5:53

Interview:
The fans give a huge ovation to Robert 'Blaze" Bayley who returns to the ring after having been out for months with an injury sustained at the hands of Adam Riggs. Bayley says he is only days away from returning *this gets a huge cheer*, and he has his sites firmly fixed on vengeance from Riggs. Her wishes his friend Dallas Page luck tonight in his quest to win the Heavyweight title from Brock Lesnar.

Bout #6
MAPW Tag Team Title Match
Asp Evergreen & Eddie Chavez (champions)
v
The Backbreakers: Dustin Rhodes & Chris Kanyon

Rhodes and Kanyon are bigger, tougher, and more experienced then the champions. The only things the champs having going for them is sneakiness, luck, and desire. The champs take a beating the first 6 or 7 minutes of this match before they manage some double teams.
April Hunter comes down to ringside and joins the announce crew. She's pissed off at the way Dustin Rhodes targeted her during the battle royale. She says "us queens need to stick together." She says she is not about to sit back and take it. With that she tossed her headset to the side.
Kanyon is in the ring duking it out with Evergreen when Hunter pulls Rhodes feet first off the ring apron. She begins to stomp away at him. This distracts Kanyon and referee Buddy Lane. As a result Chavez entes the ring and helps Evergeen double team Kanyon, much to the fans delight.
Asp Evergreen & Eddie Chavez defeat the Backbreakers by pinfall when Chavez pins Kanyon after a doomsday device at 9:02
[Evergreen & Chavez retain the MAPW Tag Team titles]

Post-Match:
Hunter fades away and leaves a very pissed off team of Rhodes and Kanyon. Rhodes gets on the mic and swears their will be a price extracted from April Hunter for that mistake tonight, and it will be taken out of her ***.

Main Event
MAPW Heavyweight Title Match
4-Corners Match

Brock Lesnar (champion) (/w Rena Mero)
v
Diamond Dallas Page (/w Kimberly)
v
Adam Riggs
v
Roddy Piper

Sean O'Haire comes down to the ring with Piper but isn't allowed to stay because he doesn't have a valid managers license.
Lesnar insists on starting the match in the ring because he is the champion. Riggs goes right at Lesnar clocking him with a forearm to the head so Beard sends DDP and Piper to the apron.
Riggs has the upper hand on Lesnar for several minutes, with both men refusing to tag out. Finally DDP manages to get the blind tag in off of Riggs back. DDP shows he still has some strength left by picking up Lesnar and giving him  a front ring rope suplex for a 2 count. Riggs and Piper are so busy talking smack to each other they almost miss the 3 count. By the time Riggs enters the ring to break up the count its too late. However, Piper then slips into the ring with James Beard distracted putting Riggs out, and Piper and DDP double team Lesnar. DDP goes for the Diamond Cutter but Lesnar manages to duck away. He backs into a corner and Riggs tags in by punching Lesnar in the back of the head.
Riggs goes right to work on DDP with punches, kicks, a fisherman suplex, and then a clothesline off the top rope. He covers DDP but only gets a 2 count. DDP musters up enough energy to tag out to Piper. Piper hits Riggs with a clothesline but the big Irish Thug doesn't go down. He then launches himself off the ropes for another clothesline but Riggs ducks under it and then slams Piper to the mat. He turns him over for a version of the sharpshooter. Piper manages to get to the ropes for a break, but Riggs refuses to break and pulls him to the middle of the ring.
Both DDP and Lesnar then enter the ring and deliver a double clothesline to the back of Riggs knocking him over. Piper recovers enough to tag in Lesnar. The champ goes to work on Riggs, and ends up getting a near fall after a brainbuster. He nails an airplane spin toss, but Piper manages to tag in off of Riggs' feet. Piper nails Lesnar with a low blow unseen by Beard. He then uses his shoulder like a battering ram several times to beat down Lesnar before dropping a knee across his head. He applies the sleeperhold but the champ manages to back Piper into the corner. DDP tags in off of Piper.
As Dallas drags Lesnar into the middle of the ring, Riggs grabs Piper off the ring apron and delivers a vicious looking heart punch. Piper goes down grabbing at his chest.
Inside the ring DDP manages to hit the Diamond Cutter on Lesnar and has him beat. However James Beard is leaning over the ropes watching Piper wiggle on the ground and is yelling for help.
As DDP begins to get up and go over to Beard, he is surprised by a low blow from behind by Rena Mero who has entered the ring. Adam Riggs then enters the ring, grabs Mero from behind and slams her with a forearm blast. He then scoops her up over his shoulder, seemingly enjoying her squirming on his arm, and then tosses her over the top rope to the floor below.
It's a chaotic scene now. There are paramedics seeing to Piper who is sitting up but trying to wave them away. Inside Lesnar is trying to get to his feet and spots Mero now lying on the arena floor, not moving. DDP has recovered and is torn between checking on Piper and going after the champ. He hesitates too long and Lesnar catches him with a knee from behind. Draping DDP over the middle rope Lesnar chokes him, and then comes off the far ropes driving DDP throat first onto the middle strand. Lesnar then slips out of the ring, and takes a running start to nail DDP in the head with an elbow. He then goes to check on Rena who is beginning to stir.
As Lesnar goes to climb back into the ring to go after DDP he is caught from behind by Riggs. Riggs then throws Lesnar head first under the ring apron. When the champ emerges his head is bleeding from having hit something under the ring. Riggs rolls Lesnar back into the ring in his corner and makes a tag in.
Riggs goes right at DDP but Page ducks under, catches him with a kick to the gut. He goes for the Diamond Cutter but Riggs counters, hoisting DDP up high in the air and bringing him down with an atomic drop.
Piper has now waved off the paramedics and is sitting in his corner calling for the tag from DDP. Sean O'Haire has come down to ringside and in all the confusion James Beard is not attempting to make him leave.
Riggs hits DDP with two consecutive running clotheslines, and then a powerbomb. He covers but only gets a 2 count. He then rattles the ring and the old bones of DDP with a superplex, and gets 1, 2..Brock Lesnar enters the ring and saves his title by breaking the pin. Lesnar is not the legal man in the ring, but he whips Riggs to the ropes. He telegraphs a backbody though and Riggs just stops, and then drops a double axhandle to the back of his neck. He then shows his raw power by scooping up the champ and giving him a jackknife powerbomb.
Riggs then drops a knee again on DDP and makes the cover. He gets, 1, 2, kickout by DDP.
Piper has grabbed a chair now and when James Beard tries to help roll Lesnar out of the ring to his corner, Piper enters the ring. He takes a running start at Riggs but the Irish thug hears him coming, and showing his incredible dexterity for such a big veteran takes Piper down with a droptoe hold. Piper's momentum though takes him downward with the chair smashing right onto DDP's head. DDP is out cold. Riggs tosses Piper out of the ring. With Piper and Lesnar in no condition to interfere and DDP out cold, it looks like victory will belong to Riggs.
Sean O'Haire though has taken exception to what is going on and jumps onto the ring apron. Riggs walks over and ~waffles~ him with a chair shot. James Beard is now done helping Lesnar out of the ring and turns around, just in time to see Riggs walking back over to a laid out DDP, now bleeding from the head, holding a steel chair.
Riggs just can't control himself and nails DDP again with the steel chair, not realizing that Beard is now watching him. The ref calls for the bell.
[Diamond Dallas Page defeats Adam Riggs, Roddy Piper, and Brock Lesnar by disqualification when Riggs was disqualified for using a steel chair on DDP at 16:17]
[Brock Lesnar retains the MAPW Heavyweight Title]

That's it for another edition of MAPW Rage.

See ya next week!!
