Brandon Bricks v Sean Waltman
Re-match after last week's upset win by Bricks. Waltman attacked Bricks before the opening bell, choking him with a bandana.
He continued to flirt with disqualification throughout the match, daring rookie referee Tony Zerucha to do something about
it. He hit a series of Asai leg lariats, and then a missile dropkick. He humiliated the youngster with a Bronco buster before
nailing the X-factor to win the match.
[Sean Waltman defeated Brandon Bricks by pinfall after the X-Factor at 5:11]
Chris Champion was sent to the ring to interview Sean Waltman. The victor tried to make Champion eat
his words from last week that he needs to retire. When Champion asked Waltman what was next on his agenda he turned his wrath
towards the tag team champions, Asp Evergreen & Eddie Chavez. Waltman called them a joke and a DX wannabee team. Waltman
then called Billy Kidman out to the ring. He told Kidman that after he and Scott Vick lost their title match
against the champs last week that he obviously needs to get rid of the weak link, Vick. He offers Kidman a chance to team
with him, and together they will get the titles. Kidman responded by saying that as of right now he was still a friend and
tag partner with Vick, but that anything is possible.
Dustin Rhodes & Chris Kanyon defeated Mikey Batts & Javier Reyes by pinfall after a double backbreaker
Pamela Paulshock is sent to interview the team of Rhodes & Kanyon. They play up their affection
for each other and tell Pamela that next time she should send Champion to interview them instead. They also unveil their new
tag team nickname, from now now on they will be known as The Backbreakers.
Dan Severn brings out his protege The Stalk to the ring. Severn announces that both
he and his protege will be entering the battle royale tonight. He claims that whichever one of them wins it will easily defeat
Brock Lesnar for the MAPW Heavyweight title.

The house goes nuts as Rowdy Roddy Piper leads Sean O'Haire to the ring.
Sean O'Haire (/w Roddy Piper) v The Stalk (/w Dan Severn)
Natural animosity seemed to be present between these two men even though it was their first time facing off. Stalk tried
to ground O'Haire a couple of times but after getting a rope break O'Haire sent his European opponent into the buckle and
then turned the match into a slugfest. O'Haire nailed a roundhouse kick followed by a crucifix powerbomb for a 2 count. He
climbed the top to try for the Seanton bomb but Severn jumped up on the apron to distract him. It was enough for Stalk to
be able to slam O'Haire off the top turnbuckle.
Outside the ring Piper grabbed Severn and the two began to really brawl.
Stlk nailed a belly-to-belly suplex but when he tried to lift O'Haire up for his finisher it was countered with a face
rake. Stalk though then slammed O'Haire shoulder first into the corner. O'Haire's shoulder hit the steel ring post. Stalk
ws going to pick O'Haire up for his finisher but seeing how hurt he was decided to pin him instead. He got the 1, 2, 3.
The Stalk defeated Sean O'Haire by pinfall after slamming him shoulder first into the ringpost at 6:01
[Sean O'Haire suffered a shoulder injury]
The Piper-Severn brawl had continued unabated and although Piper gave bettern then he took, it was Piper who was busted
wide open from Severn knocking him headfirst into the ringsteps. The brawl ended though when the match did because Piper went
to check on his man, and Severn went to celebrate with the Stalk.
Chris Champion interviews the MAPW champions Asp Evergreen and Eddie Chavez. He compares
them to great MAPW teams of the past like Bobby Duncum & Angelo Mosca, The Fabulous Ones, Road Warriors, and Spinebusters.
He then spits on the mat in front of them.
Chavez gets fired up but Asp holds him back. Asp says they are the best in MAPW and will continue to prove themselves.
Whether its Kidman, Vick, Waltman, or the Backbreakers. Asp says they cut their teeth right here in Middle America and the
fans who used to hate them now cheer for them because they consider them to be part of the heartland now. Asp hits his chest
with a closed fist, "it's all about the heart Champion".
Javier Reyes comes walking by. He walks right up to Chavez and extends his hand, introducing himself.
He tells Chavez that he is a role model for all his fellow hispanics from the 'hoods in SoCal. Chavez looks at him like he's
from Mars before replying, "dude I'm from Allentown." Reyes says "whatever" and insists that its a pleasure. He looks forward
to competing against his idol in the battle royale tonight.
MAPW Television Title Bout
No Holds Barred
Yoshi Tajiri (champion) v Petey Williams
Petey brings out a roll of duct tape with him. He threatens Tajiri that if he tries out that mist again then he'll get
his mouth wrapped tight.
Williams starts strong but Tajiri turns things around with a chop to the throat. After a series of kicks he is able to
hook Petey into the Octapus strectch over the ropes. Normally he would only be able to do this for the 5 count or risk DQ,
but being a no holds barred there was nothing the ref could do to stop it. Finally Williams managed to break the hold by pushing
back hard enough to flip himself over the top rope backward, hurting himself even more.
Outside the ring Tajiri dealt out more punishment including a leg lariat off the ring apron while Williams had a chair
wrapped around his head. Back inside Tajiri laid the chair on top of Williams and came off the top rope with a moonsault.
He got 1, 2, KICKOUT!!
Tajiri was furious and continued to lay in kicks, and a couple of dragon suplexes but still could not get the pin. He
then went for the shining wizard but Williams gathered enough energy to block it, and then slap Tajiri into a single leg Boston
crab. He then hurt the champ with a snap neckbreaker and a Russian legsweep, before hitting him with 3 consecutive German
suplexes. Instead of going for the pin though he put the champ into the Sharpshooter. Tajiri was close enough to the ropes
though that he managed to grab a hold of the bottom rope, and using it as leverage twisted Williams off.
Petey continued to punish Tajiri until he went for a hurancanrana and Tajiri held onto his feet and swung him head and
shoulder first into the steel post. As Petey lay there he then uncovered the middle turnbuckle. When Petey got up the champ
tried to take him down into the exposed buckle with a droptoehold but Petey jumped away from it and nailed Tajiri with a superkick.
He then slignshot Tajiri into the top buckle, climbed to the top and came down with a double axhandle.
But Tajiri countered the move with a dropkick to the gut as Williams was landing. He then threw Williams hed first into
the exposed turnbuckle and picked up the win.
Tajiri defeated Petey Williams by pinfall after smashing him headfirst into an exposed turnbuckle at 10:07
[Tajiri retains the MAPW Television Title]
In the parking lot Rowdy Roddy Piper helps his protege Sean O'Haire into a cab. He's
headed to the hospital to get his shoulder looked at. Piper goes to climb into the cab beside him but O'Haire tells him no.
He tells Piper to take his place in the battle royale tonight. To get revenge on Severn and The Stalk if he can, but most
of all to try and win. After thinking it over Piper agrees, saying he likes to fight more then he likes to play nursemaid
anyway. O'Haire wishes him luck.
[end of first hour]
Dawn Marie, the MAPW Women's champion comes down to the ring. She's still mad at the beating last week
from April Hunter & Dana Hamm. She's looking for a partner tonight. Her recent nemesis Christy Hemme
comes out and offers to tag with Hunter, reminding her that she too took a beating at the hands of those two amazons. DM is
reluctant to accept, and when Hemme says "don't worry I won't cross you", DM counters with "i'm not worried about that, I
just think your too much of a princess to compete with those two." That earns DM a shot in the mouth from Hemme and the two
begin to tussle.
April Hunter and Dana Hamm hit the ring to begin the match and have the advantage right away pounding
away at the others.
Dawn Marie & Christy Hemme v April Hunter & Dana Hamm
Hunter controls Dawn Marie and works the champion over good. Two minutes into the match she delivers a pulsating powerslam
and DM has yet to get in a stich of offense. She sets DM up for a running somersault neckbreaker but DM manages to push Hunter
off. She tries for the tag but Hunter catches her by the hair and pulls her into their corner when she and Hamm double team
the champ. Hamm is tagged in and after a few chops and kicks delivers a decent looking belly-to-back suplex for a two count.
DM finally manages to kick the ankle out from underneath Hamm and then somersaults along top of Hamm on her way to the corner
to tag in Hemme. The redhead goes to work with some chops and then a flying backelbow. However when she goes for a springboard
bulldog Hamm catches holds on, keeping Hemme up in the air and walks her to their corner. Hunter is tagged in and goes right
to work on Hemme by whipping her to the buckle and then nailing her with a hurancanrana and picking up the easy win.
[Hunter & Hamm defeated Dawn Marie & Hemme by pinfall when Hunter pinned Hemme after a hurancanrana at
Chris Champion calls out MAPW champion Brock Lesnar who comes to the ring along with
his girlfriend Rena Mero. Champion gets on Lesnar saying he got beat last week by DDP fair and square and
DDP deserves a rematch. Lesnar tries to blame the distraction caused by April Hunter and Dana Hamm for his loss and says DDP
isn' t man enough to be champion.
Chris Champion says, "well let's ask him" and calls out DDP. The fans cheer as Diamond Dallas Page hits
the ring trailed by Kimberly Page. DDP and Lesnar go nose to nose. DDP says I beat you now I want my title
shot. Lesnar says you'll get your shot when I feel like giving it to you, and right now I don't feel like giving it to you.
Page counters by saying he doesn't wait to be given things he takes what he wants.
At that point though Kimberly gives out a shriek because Rena Mero attacked her from behind. DDP turns around and this
allows Lesnar to attack him from behind. The beatdown is on, as Lesnar pounds on DDP and Mero pounds on Kimberly. Lesnar and
Mero finally call it quits and leave their adversaries laying face down in the ring.
Sam Holiday v Adam Riggs
Holiday showed no ring rust early. When he tried to trade punches with the much bigger Riggs and came up short he changed
his fortunes with a kick to the gut, a stinging uppercut forearm, a double legtakedown, and then a heel drop into the lower
abdomen area. Holiday continued to work over Riggs concentrating on his legs. Riggs finally managed to turn things around
by throwing Holiday out of the ring and then slamming his shoulder into Holiday when he tried to climb back in. It was all
Riggs for a few minutes A spinebuster set up a piledriver and would have ended the match but Holiday managed to drape a foot
over the bottom rope. Riggs threw Holiday over the top rope to the floor below and then turned around to pose for the crowd.
But Holiday managed to hold onto the top rope and land on the apron. He charged Riggs from behind but the Irish thug heard
him, turned around and leveled the cowboy with a kick to the face. A few seconds later he nailed the Phenomenal Performance
and picked up the big win.
[Adam Riggs defeated Sam Holiday by pinfall after the Phenomenal Performance at 8:31]
Riggs hooked Holiday up in the tree of whoa and continued to work over his abs and face with kicks.
The crowd went nuts when Robert "Blaze" Bayley in black jeans and an Iron Maiden t-shirt hit the ring,
a belt wrapped around his fist. He attacked Riggs from behind and began to beat on him with that belt. Riggs though wrapped
his arms around his rival and took him down with a slam to the mat. The two men rolled around the mat and rolled right between
the ropes, to the floor below. Riggs was on his feet first and caught Bayley with a kick to the face. He then nailed him with
a piledriver which left Bayley twitching on the floor. He was about to scoop him up again when Sam Holiday now freed, recovered
enough and chased Riggs away with a steel chair.

If their targeting of Sean Waltman was any indication then Billy Kidman and Scott Vick are still on the same page, and
Kidman is not considering Waltman's offer.
Javier Reyes kept trying to help the tag champs but eventually he and Evergreen came to blows with the tag champ eliminating
the SoCal Latino wrestler.
Petey Williams got a measure of revenge against Tajiri by eliminating him and taking away his shot at the Heavyweight
April Hunter did quite well for herself against the men in the battle royal but Rhodes took a disliking to her and made
it his mission to eliminate her.
Mentallo, the masked high flyer, had the outing of his life.
Roddy Piper and Rhodes rekindled old hatred for a couple minutes in the event.
Piper was completely exhausted after finishing off both The Stalk and Severn to take the win. Afterwards the emergency
repsonders had to come to the ring to check him out and even gave him some oxygen.
That's it for another edition of River City Wrestling.
See ya next week!!!
